What risks does Civil Liability After Delivery Insurance cover?

Civil Liability After Delivery Insurance is a useful extension to the Civil Liability Operation policy. If another party experiences damage after the delivery of your products or the execution of your work, they can hold you liable. Civil Liability After Delivery Insurance covers the damage you caused.

Some examples of such claims:

  • One of your engineers connected a washing machine wrongly. The first time your customer wants to use their new washing machine, water damage is caused.
  • You repair an electric heater at a customer’s site. A few days later a fire breaks out due to badly insulated wiring.

However, it is important to be aware that only consequential loss is covered. The damage to the delivered product itself or the loss of work will not be reimbursed.

What should you be aware of when taking out Civil Liability After Delivery Insurance?

As with your Civil Liability Operation policy, the nature of your business activities must be very precisely described. This is the only way to ensure that your Civil Liability After Delivery Insurance provides good protection.
