European Drone Regulations
Since 2021, the European drone regulations have been in effect. Anyone flying a device heavier than 249 grams in the Open Category must have a valid EU drone certificate. This certificate is valid for five years, which means the first group of pilots will have to renew their certificate in 2026. Without a valid certificate you may no longer fly legally and also risk not being insured in the event of an incident.
Why Drone Insurance Is Important
A drone offers freedom, but it also involves risks. A technical malfunction or a misjudgment can cause damage to property or people. In such cases, a drone insurance can make the difference.
At Van Dessel Insurance Brokers, we offer insurance solutions that comply with European regulations and provide protection in case of damage to third parties. This allows you to keep flying with peace of mind.
Weclosely monitor developments in the drone sector and make sure you always remain properly insured, fully in line with current regulations.
